With 75 miles of coastland and beaches, 50,000 campgrounds, and countless acres of hiking trails, there are a lot of outdoor activities and things to explore. Los Angeles also has several museums, historical sites, and amusement parks to visit such as the Griffith Observatory and Universal Studios Hollywood, and there is a large music scene. |

On average, AmeriCorps members pay between $450-$500/ month in rent and have up to 3 roommates. AmeriCorps members typically live in Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles (Lincoln Heights, El Sereno), Koreatown, Echo Park, South LA (USC), Huntington Park. |

AmeriCorps members receive a free LA Metro pass for the year. All City Year schools are accessible by public transportation. Los Angeles is also a very bike friendly city. |
